ABOUT US

TAMSA UDOM is one among the Chapters of Tanzania Medical Students' Association, operating at The University of Dodoma.

Nature
TAMSA is an independent Medical Students’ Association. It is a non-governmental Organization.
                                                                                                                           
Mission.
To prepare and practically equip Medical Students in searching, identifying and learning how to face, solve and address the major community health problems in scientific and technological approach, such as research; plan and propose policy formation; taking part in both National and international professional conferences and paper presentations of various discipline. Again, raise concern among stake holders (medical schools, ministry, and NGOs etc.) to help support these efforts of students towards archiving TAMSA’s objectives


Vision
An association where all medical students work together for better national and global health and are equipped with knowledge, skills and values to serve as responsible future physicians and health leaders. 


 Principles


1.    TAMSA pursues its aims without political, religious, social, racial, national, sexual or any other discrimination.
2.    The Association shall seek to contribute to the creation of responsible future physicians through promoting humanitarian ideals among medical students.
3.    The Association respects the autonomy of its members in the processes of fulfilling the main objectives.

Objectives
  1. The main goal of the association is to serve society and medical students all over the country through its chapters and standing committees by
  2. Empowering medical students to use their knowledge and capacities for the benefit of society. 
  3. Providing a forum for medical students throughout the country to discuss topics related to individual and community health, education and science and to formulate policies through such discussions.  Promoting and facilitating professional and scientific exchanges as well as projects and extracurricular training for medical students, thereby sensitizing them to other cultures and societies and their health problems.
    To project the positive image of the medical students in the country and worldwide.  
  4. Establish networks with other Medical Students Associations in Africa and worldwide.  
  5. To generate initiative in population and health surveys as well as in bio-medical research in Tanzania Medical Students, to correlate and disseminate original findings for promotion of health.  
  6. To encourage member to work towards improvement of health conditions in Tanzania and Africa in general through participation and rendering help activities where medical students can be of assistance.  
  7. To promote and encourage the members’ adherence to medical ethics.
    To encourage and facilitate members to attend various meetings so as to strengthen their knowledge to suit the century of emergency cases only if two third of the science and technology.
