When it comes to Valentine’s Day you’ve got choices: flowers or chocolate; dine in, or dine out; drinking or dancing. Whatever you choose, make sure you celebrate love with a safe and heart-healthy meal.





Follow these 7 simple steps to keep your valentine safe and healthy while eating out.


·         Access the scene. Check food safety and make sure the restaurant is clean.
·         Know the fact. Know what you are going to eat
·         Ask before ordering
·         Order it cooked thoroughly. Remember that foods like meat, fish, and poultry need to be cooked to a temperature high enough to kill harmful bacteria that may be present.
·         Beware of unlikely source of sodium.  Eg too much salt
·         Sharing is caring, consider accompanying a friend
·         Continue the celebration. If your romantic dinner is too big to finish, go ahead with celebration
